Simple Saturday
Oh my!!! This dip is a "Must Make"!!!! I'm going to a dinner party and the theme is Mexican. This dip is so good and so easy, it's going to become a favorite. This would also be great on your favorite grilled chicken, steak or fish. A healthy, fresh summer salad!!
I found the recipe at the blog Five heart Home.
I changed things a bit, using canned corn and pickled jalapeƱo slices chopped up. It's going to be hard to wait until the party to dig in!!! Enjoy!!!!

Friday's Find
Did you know Alabaster's local favorite, Joe's Italian has a Baby Brother??? For those of you who live on the other side of 31, Joe's Italian - Crossroads is for you. Head down 119 toward Montevallo and you will find the second location at The Crossroads - Hwy 119 and Hwy 22.
The address is 4735 Hwy. 119, Montevallo.
Papa Joe is watching over his new Restaurant!
I recently went for lunch and had the Soup, Salad and Bread Special. It's only $5.95 and available from 11-3. If you have never had the Tomato Soup, you need to have some soon!!! My son and his friend kept dipping the homemade Focaccia Bread in my soup! The salad is simple and fresh and comes with homemade Italian Dressing or Ranch, I'm addicted to the Italian Dressing!
Another favorite is the Bread Dipping Oil. I like to dip my pizza crust in this too!
With 2 teenage boys in tow I ordered the Pizza special! Available Monday through Thursday - 2 one topping pizzas for only $14.95 ! We chose Pepperoni! I Love the pizza - great crust and fresh ingredients.
If you need Beer, Wine or Margarita's, Joe's has that too! Nothing like a Peroni with your Pizza!
Did someone say Cake?!?! Joe's is famous for Mama's Desserts. Two Best sellers are the Strawberry and the Coconut Cake. Starting Today, their seasonal Peach Cake will be available.
Don't worry if you are a Chocolate Lover, they have cakes for you too. Call ahead to see what's available.
Here's the full menu. They also have daily specials and family meals. I have out of town guests coming so I will be stopping by to pick up one of those!
Joe's Italian Crossroads is open Monday - Saturday from 10:30 to 9pm.

Friday's Find
I drive by this tiny restaurant in Alabaster almost every day. A friend posted a pic of her lunch there on Facebook, Tacos Mexicanos, and I decided I had to go - that night. Los Angeles Burrito is a true neighborhood gem. I had the 2 tacos, rice and beans plus an order of chips and salsa. The steak was so tender and flavorful. The tacos had onions and cilantro and were made with fabulous homemade tortillas! You can also get chicken tacos! The rice was not sticky, it had a unique flavor that was not your typical Mexican restaurant rice. Loved the beans too. Everything was so fresh. They also have a breakfast menu that they serve all day. I will be checking that out soon.
Los Angeles Burrito is located at 1614 Kent Dairy Road in Alabaster.
